Media Access Control address. The unique

hardware address of an Ethernet interface

VLAN

Virtual LAN. A method used to separate and

group traffic within a physical LAN. VLANs

can be port oriented (frames received on a

specific port belongs to a certain VLAN) or

they can be tagged (frames carry a tag,

identifying the VLAN they belong to).
